Business Development Director

Absurd has grown considerably over the last 12 months through word of mouth and referral.

We’re now looking for an experienced Business Development Director to join our team and maintain our continued growth.

You

As somebody with a passion for strategic design and technology, business development and relationship building will come naturally to you; meaning you take a consultative approach to relationship building and can respect the challenges our clients ask us to solve.

You’ll be as happy generating relationships from cold sources as you are qualifying inbound enquiries, we’re looking for somebody that really thrives off the former whilst helping build out our identity in the market to support the latter.

You will be a key member of Absurd, helping to shape its future growth strategy across both the UK, and eventually, overseas.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of delivering growth for a leading design/technology agency;
  • A rich understanding of strategic design and software implementation;
  • The ability to represent Absurd, as the main point of contact throughout the new business process, whilst maintaining integrity and protecting the values of our company;
  • Experience working with senior business leaders to understand their challenges and requirements, and being able to articulate this back to the team at Absurd;
  • The ability to shape and lead Absurd’s outbound activities to generate opportunities;
  • Management of inbound opportunities from qualification to commercials; knowing when to bring our specialists into the process;
  • The ability to pivot between FTSE-listed organisations and funded startups; navigating their different operating styles and cultures;
  • Experience negotiating and working with procurement teams as a vendor.

Requirements

  • Represent new business opportunities within the Senior Management Team;
  • Deliver outbound activity with a view to generating new opportunities;
  • Qualify and manage inbound enquiries - leading the initial relationship until handover;
  • Develop partnerships with management consultancies and software vendors as additional lines of new business;
  • Implement and manage a CRM;
  • Own new business proposals and commercials - ensuring our client get value whilst commercially protecting Absurd;
  • Ensure the Absurd client experience is in line with our values and expectations.
