Our Founders

Oli & Ollie

Oli and Ollie founded Absurd not to be different, but to be better; better relationships, better ways of working, and better output.
Having worked in agencies of all shapes, they believed they could provide an approach that left bureaucracy at the door and generated success through the relentless pursuit of positive client outcomes.
In practice, that distills down to a set of simple principles: putting clients first, staying flexible and working collaboratively. This set of principles has guided Absurd since it's formation and the reason why we still count our original clients as partners today.

Oli Taylor

Initially our founding Design Director, Oli now takes responsibility for the overall quality of our output and delivery.

Starting his career as a UX Designer and evolving into a Service Designer in later years, Oli has worked with clients all over the globe, including MasterCard, Brother, McLaren, Deutsche Bank and AstraZeneca.

Oli has two young boys, Finley and Reid, and his partner, Nat. When he's not coaching Saturday football he's usually found doing DIY or on the beach in Wales.

Oli is central to making Absurd work the way it was intended; cutting out the bloated silos, working closely with our clients and ensuring we're proud of every piece of work that goes out of the door.

Ollie Bailey

Often the first person you'll speak to at Absurd; Ollie leads our Client Partnerships.

Ollie's career path started in media and soon graduated to client services and technology. These days he spends his time supporting our clients with their roadmaps and driving our teams to think about "what's next".

Outside of work, Ollie lives in the countryside with his partner, Anna, and their two young boys; Noah and Hugo. He is currently using ChatGPT to teach himself Python.

Ollie's vision for Absurd is to continue being the agency that helps clients make the right decisions; steering away from innovation for innovations' sake and towards solutions that make sense to businesses and their customers.

Our principles

Embrace agile adaptability

We confront the chaos and contradictions of the digital universe head-on, finding opportunities where others see challenges. Guided by Agile methodologies, we work iteratively, incorporating feedback from regular sprints and reviews. We co-create with our clients and users, adapting quickly and efficiently to changes, and always striving for innovation.

Forge trust through transparent collaboration

We value the power of collaboration in navigating complexities. We involve our clients at every step of the journey, fostering an environment of co-creation. By maintaining open, straight-talking communication, we build mutual trust, allowing for greater autonomy and ensuring our work aligns perfectly with your vision and values.

Cultivate clarity amid complexity

We derive our inspiration from Absurdism, which sees meaning in an irrational world. We apply this perspective to dissect and demystify the convoluted digital landscape, creating clear, purposeful designs. Our commitment to transparency ensures our clients are with us every step of the way, fully engaged and understanding of the process, enabling us to turn the convoluted into the coherent.
