Content & Marketing Exec - Internal

We’re looking for a Content & Marketing Exec to join our Manchester Studio and build the profile of Absurd.

This is a new role at Absurd and one that we see as extremely important to our next phase of growth as an agency.

We’re looking for somebody who is passionate about creating engaging content and campaigns to drive business growth - your background will be predominantly in social media and content, but we're looking for somebody that can also work with our other existing channels (as well as bringing new ones to the table).

Experience isn't necessarily important to us - if you can prove you have the skills to create quality content and campaigns that are aligned to our target markets, we're interested. You might be a grad, have a couple of years experience or be looking to apply your skillset differently - if you think you've got what it takes, get in touch.

Requirements

You will be working collaboratively with the Absurd team to develop content and campaigns - we're often an extremely busy studio so we're looking for somebody that has the persistence to take insights from our team and turn them into something creative.

  • An understanding of social media channels, content formats and how they can be applied.
  • A portfolio of some sort. It could be real life examples, course work, or self-initiated.
  • Experience in managing social media platforms for Web, Android, and iOS, and knowledge of respective platform guidelines.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with an inquisitive mind. Our team aren't content producers, they need help telling their stories.
  • Advocate for data-driven approaches to social media strategy. What posts well, when, where and how - we want to build a successful formula we can iterate. and grow.
  • Experience in using social media management tools and analytics platforms like Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, and SEMRush.
  • Confidence in presenting your strategies and performance results to colleagues. We want your activity to be visible - it's exciting.
  • Strong collaboration skills, creativity, and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for planning, producing and evaluating all Absurd content and campaigns. Essentially, with the guidance of our founders, you will be responsible for building the profile of our agency.

  • Define our social media and marketing strategies, applying research, data, and insights to make informed decisions.
  • Create visually appealing and engaging content, whether that's Video, Photography, visual assets or Whitepapers.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to turn expertise into interesting stories and campaigns.
  • Produce content calendars and oversee the scheduling and publishing of posts.
  • Monitor and report on social media performance, using data to optimize future strategies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, sharing insights and best practices with team members.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow the brand beyond social media, such as events and webinars.
  • Maintaining our website with case studies and blog posts (we have a new website in development).

About Absurd

Absurd was founded in 2016 as a Strategic Design and Development Agency - we work with clients like Lucy & Yak, Umbro, AstraZeneca, Brother and Entain to solve some of their biggest problems and build new products and platforms.

We offer mixed working arrangements; some of our staff are fully remote, overseas or work between our studio in Manchester and remotely. For this role we imagine their being some time required in the studio, unless you can convince us otherwise.
