The Role
We’re looking for a part-time Finance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially-minded finance professional who’s comfortable working independently, maintaining oversight of cashflow, payroll, and monthly accounts.
You’ll work closely with the Directors to provide financial clarity and confidence as we continue to grow.
This role is hybrid and based out of our Manchester City Centre studio.
Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Finance
- Invoicing
- Oversee and reconcile Xero accounts
- Manage monthly payroll, pension contributions, and HMRC submissions
- Process and approve staff expenses
- Liaise with external accountants and ensure all filings are accurate and timely
Management Accounts
- Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, cashflow, and balance sheet
- Track budget vs. actuals and flag any issues proactively
- Provide financial reports to Directors with commentary and insights
- Support budgeting and forecasting
Finance Operations
- Maintain financial systems and processes (Xero)
- Support supplier and client contract reviews from a financial perspective
- Review financial risks and support commercial decision-making
Requirements
- Proven experience in a finance manager or similar role, ideally within a small business or agency
- Excellent working knowledge of Xero
- Experience running payroll and handling HMRC submissions
- Comfortable preparing management accounts and financial reports independently
- Strong attention to detail, and able to work autonomously
- Good commercial awareness and communication skills
