Umbraco Gold Partner
Your starting point

A migration shaped around your website.

Changing CMS is a chance to improve how your website works for customers and the people managing it. We start with the problems you need to solve, then assess the work involved in moving to Umbraco.

WordPress to Umbraco

Review pages, media, plugins and publishing workflows. Map the content to Umbraco and decide how each feature should work on the new platform.

Kentico to Umbraco

Assess content types, custom modules and any marketing or commerce features in use. Plan the content transfer and the services your team will need.

Sitecore to Umbraco

Understand templates, content relationships, languages and connected systems. Scope the move around the capabilities your organisation actually uses.

Contentful to Umbraco

Map content models, assets and API consumers. Decide how content should reach each channel and what needs to change in the frontend.

Optimizely to Umbraco

Review content, integrations and any experimentation, personalisation or commerce dependencies. Agree how those requirements will be met after the move.

A bespoke or legacy CMS

Establish how content can be exported and what sits behind the current website. Test the migration approach before committing to a wider rollout.

From discovery to launch

A clear plan. A tested move.

01. Understand what you have

Audit content, URLs, templates, integrations and publishing workflows. Agree what the next platform needs to do and where a move will help.

02. Design the destination

Define the content model, editor experience and technical architecture. Map the migration and agree what to retain, improve or rebuild.

03. Build and rehearse

Develop the platform and trial content imports. Test representative pages, connected systems and customer journeys with your team.

04. Launch and support

Complete the final content transfer, redirects and release checks. Monitor the live website and give editors the training and support they need.

Your questions

Before we get started.

Which platforms can you migrate to Umbraco?

We assess migrations from WordPress, Kentico, Sitecore, Contentful, Optimizely and bespoke systems. The route depends on access to your content and assets, the functionality you use and the integrations that need to carry forward. Discovery establishes what can be transferred and what needs rebuilding.

Can we keep our design and existing content?

Often, yes. We review the design, content and user journeys before recommending what to retain, improve or retire. Keeping the visual design does not mean the underlying templates and integrations can be reused unchanged; those are assessed as part of the migration scope.

How do you handle SEO during a CMS migration?

We capture existing URLs and search metadata, map redirects where addresses change, and check internal links, canonical tags and sitemaps before launch. After launch, we monitor crawling and key journeys. Search performance can fluctuate, so we agree a baseline and a monitoring plan rather than guarantee unchanged rankings.

How much does a migration cost and how long does it take?

Content volume, languages, custom functionality, integrations and the amount of redesign all affect the scope. We start with an assessment, then provide a delivery plan and estimate with clear assumptions. The plan includes time for your team to review content, test journeys and prepare for launch.

Can our team keep publishing during the project?

We plan the migration alongside your publishing needs. Trial imports happen away from the live website, with an agreed approach for capturing later changes. Before launch, we confirm the final content transfer, any publishing freeze and a recovery plan with your team.

What happens after the migration?

We agree editor training, documentation, launch monitoring and ownership of ongoing support before handover. Our Umbraco maintenance service can then support fixes, improvements and future platform updates as your needs change.
